SOFTBALL: Big Red rips Potters

STEUBENVILLE – Lindsay Baker hit her first home run of her high school career for East Liverpool Thursday, but it wasn’t enough as Steubenville knocked out the Potters 15-1. Elise Smith struck out four and walked four for the Potters.

WELLSVILLE-Devyn Flory went 5 for 5 with a home run, a triple and five RBIs as Lisbon downed Wellsville 13-2 in softball action Thursday.

Flory’s homer was her third of the season as the Blue Devils improve to 6-11 overall.

Also for Lisbon, Hannah Hiscox had three hits, including two triples, and four RBIs and C.J. Wallace pitched six innings for her first varsity win.

Mystic Beatty led Wellsville (3-12) with two singles.

Lisbon hosts Springfield today.

WINTERSVILLE – The Beaver Local junior varsity softball team avoided a winless season Thursday as the Beavers defeated Indian Creek 19-15.

Alex Talbott led with a double and three RBIs along with four RBIs from Haylee Glover, and Caitlin Leist picked up the win as she struck out six.

The Beavers finish at 1-7.
