Oak Glen overpowers East Liverpool
NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. -Winning pitcher Logan Andrews drove in four runs with a pair of singles in leading Oak Glen past East Liverpool, 12-2, in three innings Wednesday at the Field of Dreams.
The Bears scored three runs in each of the first two innings and added six more runs in the third inning.
“It was nice to see the team bounce back from a tough loss last night,” Oak Glen coach Morgan Martin said. “They came out of the gate fighting and never let up. That’s the way to win games.”
Hannah Clunk contributed a single and two RBIs, Mikayla Crane a single and a RBI and Marissa Young a double.
For the Potters, Chelsea Possage singled twice and scored a run.
“We as a team need to understand that mistakes are going to happen between the lines, but when they do we can not allow it to carryover to the next play nor through the remainder of the game,” East Liverpool coach Erik Adkins said. “Once we learn to not hang our heads when bad things happen, and let it go, the girls will only then begin to reach to the potential that my coaching staff believes they can reach.”
