EAST LIVERPOOL – Chelsea Possage and Lindsay Baker bagged their first home runs of the year as East Liverpool bombed Youngstown Christian 18-4 in five innings on Wednesday.
Elise Smith struck out 13 on the mound and also had three hits. Haleigh Cunningham also had three hits. Cyna Burton had a double and three RBIs, while RaeAna Holmes hit a triple for the Potters, 3-4.
“When you get a lead like we did today, it gives the coaching staff a chance to get all the underclassman in to the game to get valuable experience,” coach Erik Adkins said. “When you have a game that has two girls with three hits, two girls with inside the park home runs and two more with extra base hits it’s good for the confidence of the team moving forward.”
