Hissam leads Bears over Potters

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. – Vanessa Hissam totaled 25 points and 14 rebounds in leading Oak Glen past East Liverpool, 64-43, Friday night.

Hissam scored 17 points in the first half to give Oak Glen a 39-23 lead.

The Golden Bears improve to 10-4, while the Potters even their mark at 8-8.

Alex Arnott added 14 points and five steals. Karly Wiley scored 10 points and Jessica Stivason grabbed 13 rebounds.

For the Potters, Nikayla Edgell collected 16 points and Lindsay Baker had 14 points and 11 rebounds.

In the junior varsity game, Linsey Rose’s jumper with 1.5 seconds remaining gave East Liverpool a 31-29 win. Billirae Baker led the Potters with seven points and Rose had six. Tori Fryer paced the Bears with eight.

Both teams will play Monday with Oak Glen at Steubenville Central and East Liverpool hosting Salem.
