Three local girls’ basketball teams will be competing in the Ohio Division IV Northeast District Tournament schedule to start Feb. 16 at South Range.

The tournament draw was held Sunday afternoon.

Wellsville, Southern Local and Lisbon are the three local teams in the tournament. The Blue Devils are seeded fifth, the Indians are seeded seventh and the Tigers are the No. 10 seed.

Lowellville is the No. 1 seed in the tournament. Columbiana is seeded second. Crestview is the No. 3 seed. Jackson-Milton is seeded fourth. Youngstown Christian is the sixth seed. Western Reserve is the No. 8 seed. Leetonia is seeded ninth. Mineral Ridge is the No. 11 seed. Sebring is seeded 12th. Heartland Christian rounds out the field as the No. 13 seed.

The tournament is scheduled to get underway with three games on Feb. 16.

At 1 p.m, the Bears will take on the Blue Devils of Western Reserve in the tournament opener. Then, the Rockets will play the Trojans at 2:30 p.m. In the final game of the day, the Rams will take on the Rebels at 4 p.m.

Two games will be held Feb. 18.

In the first game, the Eagles will play the Blue Devils from Lisbon at 6 p.m. In the second game of the night, the Lions are scheduled to play the Clippers at 7:30 p.m.

Action continues in the tournament with a pair of games on Feb. 21.

First of all, the winner of the game between the Rockets and the Trojans will play the winner of the game between Leetonia and Western Reserve at 6 p.m. Then in the nightcap, the Indians will play the winner of the game between the Rams and Rebels at 7:30 p.m.

Two more games are scheduled for Feb. 23.

At 1 p.m., the Bluejays are scheduled to play the winner of the game between Youngstown Christian and Lisbon at 1 p.m. Then, the Tigers will play the winner of the game between the Lions and Clippers at 2:30 p.m.

The district semifinals are scheduled for Feb. 27.

In the first semifinal, the winners of the games played Feb. 23 will play at 6 p.m. Then at 7:30 p.m., the winners of the game played Feb. 21 will meet.

The district final is scheduled for 2 p.m. on March 2.
