SETH BLOOR WINS TITLE AT TOURNAMENT

WELLSVILLE – Wellsville sophomore standout wrestler Seth Bloor won the title in the 220-pound weight class Saturday at the 2013 Buck Bailey Memorial Tournament at Wellsville.

LOCALS WIN FIGHTS SATURDAY NIGHT

WEIRTON – East Liverpool’s Josh Stansbury and Joey?Holt came out victorious in their boxing matches Saturday night at the Serbian Culture Center. The vent was promoted by Made Men Promotions. Stansbury knocked out Justin Novaria in the second round in his professional debut. Hold knocked out Roy Sanders in the first round.

Wellsville basketball boosters 5-6th tourney

WELLSVILLE – Wellsville basketball boosters are sponsoring a 5-6th grade boys and girls Roundball Tournament on Feb. 23-24 and March 2-3. The double elimination tournament will cost $125 per team (checks payable to Wellsville Basketball Boosters). YMCA youth leagues announce registration

EAST LIVERPOOL – Registration is open for the East Liverpool Area YMCA winter sports ;eagues. Basketball leagues for kids ages 6-7, 8-9, and 10-12 available. Volleyball leagues are forming for beginners ages 8-9 beginners 10-14, intermediate 11-14 and advanced 12-14. Nominations NOW being accepted for ELHS HOF

EAST LIVERPOOL – The East Liverpool High School Athletic Hall of Fame Committee is accepting nominations of individual for potential induction into the Hall of Fame. EAST LIVERPOOL – East Liverpool Area Youth baseball sign-ups will be held at St. Clair Twp Community Hall from 12-4 p.m. Feb. 2 and 10. Cost: Shetland (5-6, $40), Pinto (7-8, $45), Mustang (9-10, $60), Bronco (11-12, $60), Pony (13-14, $70), Colt (15-17, $80). 9th annual Thompson Park Ice Bowl Feb. 9

EAST LIVERPOOL -?The 9th annual Thompson Park Ice?Bowl will be held Feb. 9 starting at 10 a.m.. This ‘singles’ tournament will be played on the “Back 18” holes and cost is $10 per person plun non parishable food items. Trophies for 1st-3rd place will be awarded.

Youth basketball tournament being held

Applications are now available for the Hilltop Grade School Girls Basketball Tournament to be held Feb. 22 at Sherrard and Moundsville Middle School. There will be separate tournaments for 4th, 5th, & 6th grade girls. Each team will be guaranteed at least three games. The entry fee for all teams will be $75. Trophies will be awarded to the first and second place team in each division. All games will be played under middle school rules and all games will be officiated by certified officials. The 9th Annual Ohio Youth Basketball School Team State Championships for boys and girls in grades 3-6 is being held Feb. 23-24 in Columbus. There will be separate divisions based on school size.
