Bowling league results announced

EAST LIVERPOOL -Senior Men (45-27) leads the standings of the East Liverpool Men’s Church Bowling League. Believers (44.5-27.5), Love Others (44-28) and St. John’s Lutheran (41-31) are the next three teams in the standings. That group is followed by Rogers Assembly of God and Over/Hill at 37-35, St. Al’s (36.5-35.5) and 3 Generations (35-37). The next group is 1st United Methodist (31-41), Wellsville Christian (29-43) and Destiny House (28.5-43.5). Longs Run Presbyterian (23.5-48.5) is the final team in the standings. Individually, Russ Hayes bowled games of 232 and 212 en route to a 612 series.

Junior High wrestling results announced

CONNORVILLE – The Oak Glen Junior High wrestlers placed first as a team Jan. 11-12 at the BMC Tournament at Buckeye Local. The Golden Bears were the big school and overall champion with 220 points, and Harrison Central was second with 186 points. Oak Glen had three individual champions – Robert Bozek (110 pounds), Stevie Cool (128) and Lance Collins (134). Finishing in second place were Ty Logston (80), Jacob DeBee (122) and Dakota Price (205). Finishing third were David Devaux (116), Dakota Graves (134), Isaiah Ware (160) and Isaac Bear Rosohac (heavyweight). Solan Mueller (104) finished fourth. Finally, Colin Stanley (98) and Wyatt Strum (122) each finished fifth. Oak Glen Middle will be back in action today and Saturday at the Ohio Valley Championship held at Union Local High School.

Youth baseball league holding signups

WELLSVILLE – The Wellsville Youth Baseball League will be holding signups for baseball, softball and t-ball from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Wellsville Carnegie Library. Money will be due upon registration.

NEW CUMBERLAND – Oak Glen Jr Bears Baseball/Softball will be holding signups for boys ages 4-14 and girls ages 4-15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the New Cumberland City building Saturday and from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday as well as from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 7 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 16 and Feb. 23 at the Chester Volunteer Fire Department. The 9th Annual Ohio Youth Basketball School Team State Championships for boys and girls in grades 3-6 is being held Feb. 23-24 in Columbus. There will be separate divisions based on school size. Date of Wellsville boys’ game changed

WELLSVILLE – The Wellsville boys’ basketball team’s home against Oak?Glen has beem moved up one day. The game will now be played Feb. 21. The game was originally scheduled to be played Feb. 22.
