Drug Abuse in the city!

its not the pipes, its the people using them for what they are not intended for, besides, drug addicts will find and manufacture whatever it takes to take their drugs

Too many people getting rich, (by means of drugs) from dealers to police, lawyers, judges, and on & on. For example, years ago I was hitch-hiking down around New Orleans and was given a ride by a 17 yr. old boy, driving a new El Camino. He offered me a joint, (that he had a few of) from a pack of Marlboro's. He then asked me to go in to a store and get us a 6 pack of beer. He told me that his father was "cool". He was a state trooper and if he stopped someone and discovered pot or other drugs, sometimes he would take the drugs and bring them home and send the driver on his way. "We always have stuff to smoke." If there is $$ to be made, it will turn an honest man into a "crook."

hi i grew up in this town and the drugs have gotten out of hand most of the police know the whos whats and whys they just cant get the evidence on the dealers now i know some of them and they arnt going to quit made it to easy for them but if you ppl want the drugs to stop flowing then hire me i dont follow the rules exactly but i can go where the police cant and id love to be able to come home again find me a job and ill get the dealers running

Why should an entire industry change because crack heads use whatever they can to create a pipe with. They also tear apart pens and use those as tubes, straws, and some even roll up money to snort cocaine. Why doesn't the government stop printing money then?

Your logic is flawed, to stop drug use, you have to stop the dealers, and users. A 0 tolerance policy must be put in place ensuring the fullest punishment allowed for even the most minor of drug related offenses. The city needs a PROACTIVE police department and not a REACTIVE one. Landlords need to stop renting to scum, and people need to take some pride in their properties appearence (Broken windows theory) to get this scum out of EL.

Basically it'll never happen.

If there is a way to get high, the "druggies" will find out what to use. Be it a glass rose vase, or a piece of aluminum foil,...whatever works, at the moment. Banning things, (that may be used as paraphenalia), would be a never ending task,...these people are very creative.

Make it legal. Then tax it. The same ones using it now will be the only ones using it then.

I agree they should stop it.. There are a world of drugs out there, some of them you may not have even heard of. Nowadays, it has become increasingly easy for young people to get their hands on illicit substances.

While everyone seems to "know" what it will take to clean up our city of drugs,,NO ONE seems to help law enforcement with the problem. If your caught talking to an officer,,your branded a snitch,,The way I see it,,if your neighbor has so much company, that comes and goes at all hours of the day or night,,They just may be Drug Dealers. Call your local police and report the activity,,,if your wrong,,no harm done! If you're not a part of the solution,Then, You're a part of the problem! These same people,you choose not to "snitch" on,,,may someday break into your home and take the things "YOU" worked and paid for, just to support their habit. READ you newspaper,and you will see,crimes like these are happening everyday,,home invasions are becoming more frequent, and they don't care if your home or not. I keep my eyes open and my doors locked,you should too.

Kernaich, the store owners are well aware what the "rose"is used for. They even have chore boy right next to it and people actually come in and ask for a crack pack. The chore boy is put in the end of the glass stem and acts as the filter to hold the crack in place while they smoke it. everyone knows what they are used for but because it's sold as a novelty item it is not considered drug paraphernalia. blows my mind.
