property anexation

Years ago what is now Liv. Twp. was part of the city. The city decided they no longer needed or wanted those people or their tax money and de-annexed them. If you wonder why the city limits line is so screwed up in places, the city chose, right down to each house, which one stayed and which one went. The reason? Money. I suspect the city mismanagers at the time felt the cost of patrolling, fire protection and maintenance of streets didn't meet their bottom line. And now that the city is a ghost town due to decades of fiscal mismanagement, they want everyone else's property back in the city. The reason? Money.

ELO wants annexation so they can collect more taxes via income taxm property tax, etc so they can have more money to misuse.

O yes by the way i DONT pretend like the current council members to have the ALL the answers i just have some common sense, something which none of the current council members have. Don't worry there isn't 1 single valid good reason that property was purchased and annexation has begun. Dozens of better locations downtown could be developed, but no one has ever developed them, there isn't any chance in*****someone invests in that place for a business. Lets not even mention the health issues with the property either.

The whole plan was to buy it, annex it quick as possible and default on the loan. Essentially ruin the city's abilities to get emergency funding when they might need it, all for a useless tract of run down, polluted land.

Now the annexation hasn't went fast, the city is going to be hurt financially more and more every time that bill is paid as it's just wasting money.

What's going to happen if they get denied annexation? Perhaps they want that as an excuse to stop the payments though. Either way, when election time comes, be sure NOT to vote for ANY CURRENT council member!
