CLEARWATER, Fla. - Helen L. Taylor Young, 77, formerly of Calcutta, died on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, in Clearwater, Fla., where she had been living for the last seven years.
Helen was born in Mannington, W.Va., on Jan. 18, 1937, a daughter of the late Lester Mike, and Elma (Davis) Robinson. She lived her entire life in the area, having worked as a visiting nurses aide for 12 years. She volunteered at Nentwicks Nursing Home and was a member of the Tri State Lanes Bowling League. Helen was also a member of Good Shepherd formerly Anderson United Methodist Church.
Helen is survived by three sons: William "Bill" Taylor and his wife Kathryn of Cummings, Ga., Christopher Taylor and his wife Kim of Clearwater, Fla., Daniel Taylor and his wife Rachael of Columbia, S.C.; a stepson: John "Buddy" Young and his wife Sherry of East Palestine; two brothers: Cecil Mike and his wife Wilma of New Cumberland, Russell Mike and wife Joan of Chester; two sisters: Clara Villers of Barton, W.Va., and Arlene Shuman of East Liverpool; grandchildren: Kweilyn Taylor, Amberly Taylor, William Taylor, Kiersten Taylor, Jacob, Leia and Max Taylor, Shelbie and Brian Carter; and great-grandchildren: Jamie, Avery and Madison.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her first husband: William Taylor; and her second husband: John Young; a brother: Earl Mike; and a sister: Adalene Leasure.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ashley McMillin of the church officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
The family will be present to receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2015, at the funeral home.
