COLUMBIANA -Betty J. Dorff, 89 formerly of Chester, and Lisbon passed away on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014 at the St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center.
A daughter of the late Frank and Bessie Treadway, she was born on Dec. 1, 1924 in Stratton, Ohio.
A potter, Betty worked for 38 years at both the former TS&T and Anchor Hocking Pottery in Chester.
A member of the Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church, she was active in the Lamp Lighters, East Liverpool Triangles, and Grange.
Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Frances Allyn Reed; her second husband, Harold R. Dorff; her sister, Erma Racz and her brother, Herman Treadway.
She leaves two sons; William A. Reed and his wife Karen of Burke, Va. and P. Michael Reed and his wife Kellie of Morgantown, W.Va,; one brother, Dorhman Treadway and his wife Shirley of Salem; five grandchildren, Christopher Reed, Samantha Reed, Jonathon Reed, Kristina Coombs, and Joseph Ponceroff; and three great grandchildren, Annika and Emeric Ponceroff, and Teagan Lee Coombs.
The family will be present to receive friends on Tuesday, Sept. 2 from 6-8 p.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester where services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery in East Liverpool.
