Tonight is the first game in the 10-week regular season of high school football - one of the most anticipated times of the year.
We send our best wishes for a successful season out to all the players and coaches, as well as members of the cheerleading squads and the marching bands and their directors.
We are certain most area stadiums will be filled with family, friends and faithful followers. Some would say there's no better place to be during the fall - under the lights, cheering on your team.
And we would agree that the atmosphere at our area high school football games is awesome.
But why stop there? Why not attend another school event this coming fall sports season?
In fact, that's our challenge to you.
In addition to your weekly high school football game, attend a volleyball game, a soccer match, a cross country meet, a tennis match or even walk the golf course.
These student-athletes also work hard and put in the effort during the off season to better themselves. These kids are proud to represent their schools.
There's more. Support the band or the cheering squad at one of their events. Attend a school play, choir concert or another school function.
Let's all do our best to get out and support all our kids - football on Friday and other events throughout the week.
We are sure they all would enjoy the community involvement.
