Lori Houyouse, Stump Road, Minerva, reported at 4:05 p.m. Saturday she had walked into her living room, turned the ceiling fan on and heard a loud bang outside. As she opened the front door, the window in the storm door shattered. Deputies could not find a reason for the window to have shattered.
Maryjo Dye, Buck Road, Beloit, reported at 2:20 p.m. Friday she received a call from someone identifying themselves as being from Microsoft and offering to help her with repairs to her computer for a nominal fee of $140. The initial call happened on Wednesday and then she spoke to them again on Thursday, at which point they linked with her computer for a support session. A large amount was taken from her account through Paypal.
Amanda Bellville, Quay Road, Negley, reported at 11:45 p.m. Friday she heard noises and believed there was a prowler at her window. Deputies searched and found a large toad had fallen into her downstairs window from about three feet above. Deputies released the toad into the wild.
Scherry Smith, Calcutta Smithferry Road, East Liverpool, reported vandalism to a vehicle at Beaver Local High School at 4:40 p.m. Sunday. She was inside the building when she heard a car alarm going off. She found someone threw a brick through the passenger window of her vehicle. Her wallet with her checkbook, driver's license and savings account card was stolen.
Julie Burt, Fairfield School Road, Columbiana, reported at 6:43 p.m. Sunday Tadley Burt picked up the children on Friday and was supposed to return them by 6 p.m. Sunday, but had not. Deputies explained the matter is a civil issue and must be handled by the court.
Herb Lockhart Jr., May Street, East Liverpool, reported at 3:05 p.m. Sunday a storage unit at Liberty Storage was broken into sometime overnight. Someone took numerous tools, two torpedo heaters, chains and strobe lights.
Francis Hazel, Main Street, Kensington, reported at 9:01 p.m. Sunday someone stole a bottle containing six percocets.
Dan Baker, U.S. Route 30, Lisbon, reported at 7:05 p.m. Sunday someone left water bottles on his property with red liquid inside. Deputies found the bottles and determined someone had placed the bottles in Baker's field and had been shooting at them. However, no one was found to be shooting at that time.
Joann Cope, Metz Road, New Waterford, reported at 5:20 p.m. Sunday her husband was brush hogging their property when he saw three ATVs on their property. She followed them to an address in the 46000 block of Metz Road and was going to tell them to stay off their property, when a man came down the driveway making obscene gestures and told her to get off his property. She left after telling him this is his warning and next time she plans to file charges.
Jay and Carol Laughlin, Thomas Road, Lisbon, reported at 5:03 p.m. Sunday a child was swimming in the pool when they heard a ricochet off the roof of the house, which then struck the detached garage. Deputies were asked to alert the shooters to fire in a safe direction. Deputies found Matthew and Mitchell Soules on Saltwell Road, who had been shooting. They were informed about what happened and agreed not to shoot in that area again.
Cristi Corak, Wells Hollow, Wellsville, reported at 2:33 p.m. Sunday she and the neighbor have been having a problem. Corak said she has cut both sides of the driveway to her property for 20 years, but on Sunday the neighbor, Ada Allison chased her up her driveway. Allison claimed Corak is making a mess of their property and she did not want her there. Deputies spoke to both women, who agreed to stay away from each other.
