WELLSVILLE - The Lions Club held its regular meeting on Aug. 14 at Hammond Park.
Prior to the meeting, all fellow Lions shared fellowship by having a picnic dinner. The men cooked on the grill and the women provided other foods and desserts.
King Lion Erin Orr presided over the meeting. She asked for a secretary's report which was given by Lion Doris Musselman, in the absence of the regular secretary, Lion Cathy Wollam.
Lion Gary Malone gave the treasurer's report. He provided a financial statement that was passed around for all members to review. There were no corrections or additions.
The Club recently held a White Cane Tag Day. All monies collected will go toward the Care and Share Program.
Correspondence was presented by Orr. A notice was received from Zone 9 Chr. Lion Wayne Christen announcing the 1st Zone Meeting to be held at Kent State E. Liverpool Campus today. The Host Club will be East Liverpool Lions Club. The reservations have already been made by the secretary.
A thank you card was received from Sam McIntosh, a recipient of the Wellsville Lions Club Scholarship Program.
The club approved taking an ad for the football team program for this current season.
An invitation was received from the East Liverpool Lions Club who will celebrate its Charter Night on Oct. 4 at the Masonic Lodge.
The next scheduled meeting for the Wellsville Club will be on Sept. 11 at Hammond Park and the following meeting will be held on Sept. 25 at the Riverside Roadhouse.
