WEIRTON - The regular meeting of the Fidelis Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa met at Williams Country Club on Aug. 7, with sixteen members present.
President Carolyn Allison called the meeting to order, welcomed the members, and lit the candle for the members who were unable to attend.
Patty McCullough chose "Words" as the topic of her devotions. She read a poem called "Living with Dragons" and led the group in prayer.
Allison presented Fun Facts about the group game of "Telephone," or sometimes known as "Gossip." The ladies then participated in a game of "Telephone" and did quite well passing the original message.
Anne Ford read the July minutes, and Martha Everly gave the financial report.
Ruth Fuller told about the upcoming Leadership Conference which is to be held in Flatwoods, W.Va. Liz Pugh announced that plans are continuing for ADK month, and Pat Accettolo, reported on the voting for the World Understanding Project.
Jerry DeFilippo said that she took personal item packets to the Lighthouse in Weirton, and crayons, coloring books, and magazines to the Weirton Medical Center. Janet Benzo reported that the Chapter By-Laws had been approved.
Carol Hendon told of the final plans for the Dec. 4 Tri-Chapter Christmas/25th Anniversary Dinner. DeFilippo gave a report of the Southeast Regional Conference that she attended in July.
A motion to use a donation sent by Betty Shaw for altruism projects was passed.
The members shared comments and concerns and joined in signing "The Lamp of Alpha Delta Kappa."
Hostesses for the day were Jerry DeFilippo, JoAnn Kerr, and Betty Shaw. They decorated the tables with tea pots, tea bags of various flavors, and candy.
The next meeting will be held on Sept. 4 at Williams Country Club.
