NEW CUMBERLAND - The Lions Club pulled pork takeout is 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 23 in the parking lot of the Swaney Memorial Library. Cost is $5.50 for pork sandwich (add 25 cents for coleslaw topping) and $6.50 for smoked chicken halves. Both available as dinners with two side dishes (baked beans and potato salad or coleslaw) for an additional $1.50. Whole smoked pork butts available for $26 by advanced order only. EAST LIVERPOOL - Macy's is partnering with East Liverpool High School's National Honor Society to invite customers to participate in the department store's eighth annual "Shop For A Cause" charity shopping event on Aug. 23.
Shopping passes are $5 each, and the school keeps 100 percent of every pass it sells. Pass holders receive special discounts on most regular, sale and clearance purchases all day, but some exclusions do apply.
During the past eight years, Macy's annual "Shop For A Cause" has raised more than $46 million for local and national charities.
