Karen Kuhlman, Georgetown Road, Homeworth, reported at 11:43 a.m. Friday she has been receiving phone calls from someone asking for her credit card numbers and insisting they want to save her money. She called back the local numbers that appeared on her caller ID, but they were disconnected.
Mike Dunlap, West School Street, East Rochester, reported at 8:05 p.m. Tuesday a man is making a lot of noise, riding an ATV past his home on West School Street and keeping Dunlap's newborn baby awake. Deputies went to speak to the man, telling him to stop riding his ATV on the roadway.
Betty Barkley, state Route 14, New Waterford, reported at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday a man came to her home claiming to be from the gas and oil company. The man, described as a dark-skinned white man with black hair, got her to come outside to show him the boundary lines of her property. When she went back inside after he left she found two of her locked bedroom doors had been pried open. Nothing was missing.
Ken Gallagher, Lower Elkton Road, Lisbon, reported at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday he was contacted by Jim Severs at the Plus Cycle Shop of state Route 154. Severs told Gallagher a man claiming to Gallagher has been calling him for the last month wanting to lower his credit card bills. Gallagher's name and number are showing up on Severs' caller ID.
Richard Fisher, Wildwood Acres Lot 1, Lisbon, reported at 3:44 p.m. July 22 he needed someone removed. Deputies spoke to Joe Caughey and Jamie Payton. Payton said she went to court and her ex-husband, Freeman Payton did not bring her children to meet her at the McDonald's in Chester, W.Va., so they came to get her children. Jamie Payton said they got into an argument with her ex-husband's brother, Fisher, about the custody of the children. Fisher told deputies he is watching the children while Freeman was at work and has had problems with Caughey in the past, so he wanted him off his property. Deputies told them to leave and contact the courts about custody issues with the children.
Tim Hamon reported finding the garage door as well as the front door open at a residence on Hartley Road, Alliance, at 12:13 p.m. Monday. The deputy checked the residence but did not find anyone inside and then secured the premise as best he could.
A woman on state Route 172, Minerva, reported Monday receiving a threatening text message from an unknown number.
