ROGERS-David W. Baker, 50, of Bye Road, passed away at 10:31 a.m. Sunday, July 27, 2014 at the St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Boardman Campus, after becoming ill at home.
Mr. Baker was born Dec. 14, 1963 in Salem, a son of Shirley Crawford Baker, and the late Earl Baker. He had been involved in construction for a number of years, having owned and operated Baker Paving, as well as being co-owner of Good Spirits.
He was a graduate of East Palestine High School.
In addition to his mother at home, he leaves three step daughters, Missy Smith and Liz Sherry both of East Palestine, Sarah Jump of Columbus, and a step son, Matt Parker, Charlotte, N.C. He also leaves a brother, Larry Baker of Unity; two sisters, Cindy Handwork, Unity, and Sharri Kintz, East Palestine; and six grandchildren.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 31, at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, East Palestine, with Rev. Mark McTrustry of the Centenary United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in East Carmel Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
