SHOWING OFF

July 11, 2014
The Review
The Columbiana Nazarene Church is hosting a car-truck-bike cruise from 6-9 p.m. every other Tuesday. Admission, registration and parking is free. Trophies will be awarded for pastor’s choice, oldest and best- of-show entries. The next scheduled cruise is July 22 in conjunction with the vacation Bible school week that has a car theme this year. Other scheduled cruises are Aug. 5 and 19 and Sept. 9 and 23. Questions can be emailed to jeffreyrosfeld@gmail.com. Ben McCormick of Leetonia brought his 1940 Chevrolet Special Deluxe. The 1940 Chevy is all original except for the battery and still sports the capital A gasoline rationing sticker on the windshield from the days of World War II. According to Wikipedia, the A sticker entitled the owner to get 3-4 gallons of gasoline per week. McCormick said his car gets about 18.5 miles per gallon and can easily go 60-70 mph with its 6-cylinder engine. He has owned the car for five years. (Photo by Patti Scheffer)
