LISBON - An East Liverpool man accused of child pornography and luring a teenager to engage in sexual activity charges was served a secret indictment on Friday.
Chad R. Grey, 27, Gilson Avenue, is charged with illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance, and importuning, both fifth-degree felonies. Additionally, he faces a first-degree misdemeanor count of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles.
Court documents allege that in November 2013 Grey had child pornography. He is also accused of eliciting someone at least the age of 13 but less than 16 to engage in a sexual act in October or November of 2013. Finally, he is accused of disseminating sexual materials to children on Nov. 20, 2013.
The indictment was issued by the county grand jury in June.
Assistant County Prosecutor Timothy McNicol said Grey is accused of having inappropriate contact with minors in the East Liverpool area, including his activities through social media.
Grey was released on a $10,000 recognizance bond with the conditions he have no contact with the alleged victim in the case or any other unrelated child.
A charge of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles that was pending in Columbiana County Municipal Court was dismissed due to the indictment by the grand jury covering the same allegation.
The disseminating charge alleges Grey sent by cell phone a photo of male genitalia to an 11-year-old girl whom he knew after he served as a substitute teacher at Beaver Local Schools.
