EAST LIVERPOOL - Leslie R. Miller, 86 passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Adkins Care Center in East Liverpool, following a brief illness.
He was born on Jan. 17, 1928, in Connelsville, Pa., a son to the late Thomas and Hazel (Firestone) Miller. Living most of his life in this area, Mr. Miller worked as a Core Maker at the former MacIntosh Hempfill, currently Whemco Steel Casting, for 43 years before retiring in 1994. He was a member of the EL Beagle Club.
He is survived by his wife Charlotte R. (Ankrom) Miller whom he married Aug. 6, 1951; a daughter: Linda Sciaretta and her husband Gary of Enon Valley, Pa.; a sister: Alice Miller of Cannonsburg, Pa.; and two grandchildren: Garrison and Samantha Sciaretta.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Noah "Pete" Miller and Glenn Miller; and two sisters: Betty Neely and Bertha "Tex" Smith.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Friday, June 20, 2014, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Tom Adkins of Campgound Community Church officiating.
Burial will follow at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Family will be present to receive friends at the Calcutta Chapel on Friday, June 20, 2014, from 11 a.m. up until the time of service.
