WELLSVILLE - In addition to the Zombie Run 5K, Wellsville will be hosting another pair of events, for village residents and visitors alike, on June 21.
The Wellsville Revitalization Committee will sponsor its annual village-wide yard sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with sellers set up in the parking lot of the Save-A-Lot on Wells Avenue. In addition, residents will offer their sale items in yards and driveways throughout Wellsville for prospective buyers to shop through.
This marks the 11th year for the sale, which is normally held later in the year. According to co-organizer Candy Bangor, the move to June was made by popular request of participants. She also emphasized that one need not be a village resident to sell antiques, crafts and other items during the sale, as out-of-town vendors are welcome to set up in the Save-A-Lot parking lot.
"We just hope everybody participates and makes money," she said.
Permits for the sale are still available for a suggested donation of $3 at Wellsville Village Hall, 1200 Main St., or at Airwaves of Ohio, 719 Riverside Ave. Vendors are asked to have their permits with them the day of the sale, though people who haven't acquired one by Saturday can purchase a permit then.
Proceeds from the permit fees will go towards WRC projects, including the new community garden and pocket park on Main Street, as well as completion of the mural outside the Fraternal Order of Eagles. In the case of rain an alternate date of Saturday, June 28 has been set.
Also, the annual village rabies clinic will be held that day from noon to 2 p.m. at the Wellsville Elks Lodge No. 1040, located at 723 Riverside Ave. The Community Animal Clinic in East Liverpool will administer the rabies shots for only $10 per animal. They request that all dogs be on a leash and all cats be in an animal crate.
