EARLY MORNING FIRE

May 29, 2014
The Review
Flames gutted this vacant house at 310 Aten Ave., in Wellsville in the predawn hours of Wednesday morning. Village firefighters were called at 1:44 a.m. to the home, which is owned by Richard T. Zima of Hookstown. According to Wellsville firefighter Barry Podwel, the structure has been unoccupied for at least 15 years. Personnel from Liverpool Township Volunteer Fire Department assisted both at the scene and on standby at Wellsville Station No.6. They cleared by 10:41 a.m. No cause has been determined, and the state fire marshal is investigating the blaze. (Photo by Richard Sberna)
