AMHERST, Ohio - Colleen Ann Broderick Brown, 64, of Amherst, Ohio, formerly of Wellsville, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 16, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 22, 1949, in East Liverpool, the daughter of Thomas P. Broderick of Wellsville and the late A. Jean (Leake) Broderick.
Colleen graduated from Wellsville High School in 1967 and attended the Pittsburgh Art Institute. She enjoyed sketching and painting throughout her life. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. She loved animals, owning as many as she could, including her beloved horse, Gypsy, and her tiny Yorkshire terrier, Bonnie.
In addition to her father, Colleen is survived by her husband, Stephen L. Brown, whom she married Sept. 20, 1969; two sons: Jason Brown of Amherst, Ohio, and Kelley Brown and his wife, Becky, of Louisville, Ky.; two sisters: twin Maureen Pelley and her husband, Pete, of East Liverpool, and Kathy Nelson and her husband, Ed, of Sanford, N.C.; and one brother: Patrick Broderick and Leslie Woodford of Wellsville. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Tara and Ryan of Amherst, and Gavon and Cole of Louisville; as well as Aunt Dorie Geer of Shadyside, Ohio, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her mother, Colleen was preceded in death by her little sister, Carolyn Jean Broderick.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Alan Boone officiating.
Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main St. in Wellsville.
