EAST LIVERPOOL - Georgia Mae Casto, 65, passed away at her home on Susan Drive in East Liverpool at 10:35 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2014, with her loving family at her side.
Born on July 31, 1948, in East Liverpool, she was a daughter of the late George and Maxine Adams Lauderman.
A lifetime area resident, she had attended East Liverpool City Schools, and was a familiar face at the former Potters Medical Center, where she had worked in the housekeeping department for many years. Georgia had also been a private in-home caregiver and had recently been a one-on-one advocate at Threshold Residential Services, working with mentally challenged adults and children until her illness.
She loved to sing, and she loved caring for her family and her home, especially when she was surrounded by friends.
Her daughter, Tammy Wilson DeBray and her husband, Walter, of Chester, survive, along with six grandchildren: Christopher Brooks, Marcus Bowersock, Dustin DeBray, Aaron Bowersock, Rachell DeBray and Misty DeBray. There are two great-grandchildren, Jaydan and Nikole Bowersock. Two sisters, Judy Anderson and her husband, Gary, of New Manchester, and Robbyn Straight of Chester, also survive, as well as a brother, Arlis Lauderman and his wife, Sue, of Port Haywood, Va. Georgia also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Lee Casto, who died on Aug. 9, 2010. Georgia's son, John William Wilson III, died Feb. 22, 1989. A brother, Ronnie Lauderman, also preceded her in death.
Pastor Mike Tyree of the River of Life Church of God will officiate at a funeral service to be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Dawson Funeral Home.
Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday, where the family will be present from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
