The Review
Firefighters from Calcutta, Glenmoor and Liverpool Township departments responded to a fire at the home of Richard and Christina Belan on East Liverpool Road at Annesley Road in Calcutta, just before 8:30 p.m. Monday. Calcutta Volunteer Fire Department Chief Scott Smith said the blaze was contained to the area around a wood-burning stove in an exterior wall of the house, between the home itself and the attached garage, and was under control by 8:50 p.m. There were no injuries, though North Star Critical Care responded to assist firefighters. Damage was limited mostly to the garage wall, the second-floor garage attic and the roof. (Photo by Richard Sberna)
