CHESTER - Laura Allison Beebe, 78, of Hawthorn Lane in Chester, passed away suddenly on Sunday morning, May 4, 2014 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born on Nov. 2, 1935 in Elizabeth, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Captain Edward Rogers, Sr., and Grace Troyer Rogers. A 1953 graduate of Wells High School, she remained in this area the rest of her life.
She had been associated for several years at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens, but had primarily worked at Airco until its closing.

Laura belonged to Fairview Presbyterian Church in New Manchester, where she was a very active member and deacon. She loved helping others, and was a regular volunteer at various soup kitchens in Newell and New Cumberland.
Preceding her in death was her first husband, Blaine Allison, as well as her second husband, Walter Beebe.
She leaves behind a daughter, Kathi Allison Henson of New Cumberland; along with two sons, David Allison of Chester, and Brian Allison and his wife, Bonnie, also of Chester. Laura will also be missed by her close, much loved friend, Pat Kessel, of New Manchester.
There are two brothers, David L. Rogers of Florida, and Lawerence Rogers and his wife, Norma, also of Florida, along with three sisters, Jennie McDole of Minnesota; Emma Nebel of Florida; and Mamie Goolsby and her husband, A.B., of Tennessee. Nine grandchildren also survive, as well as ten great-grandchildren and a brother-in-law, Errett Allison of Chester.
Also preceding Laura in death was her son-in-law, Michael Henson, and a grandson, Chad M. Henson, along with four brothers and three sisters: Benjamin Rogers, Lemuel Rogers, Edwin Rogers, Edward Rogers, Jr., Caroline Rogers, Emily Allison, and Grace Hawkey.
Rev. Mark Wilds of the New Lisbon Presbyterian Church will conduct funeral services at the Dawson Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Thursday. Laura's brother-in-law, Errett Allison will provide a eulogy at the service.
Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Thursday, two hours prior to the service.
Burial will take place at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens, followed by a continued time of fellowship at the Dawson Family Center.
