WELLSVILLE - Marian E. Nixon, age 81, of Wellsville, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at the Assisted Living Ministries in East Liverpool.
Born in Wellsville on June 9, 1932, Ms. Nixon was the daughter of the late Alfred and Jeannette (Smith) Nixon and had lived her entire life in this area. She had been employed as a Secretary and Bookkeeper for the Feldman Agency in East Liverpool before retiring. A graduate of Wellsville High School, Class of 1950, she was also active in the former Free Methodist Church of Wellsville and taught various grades and ages of Sunday school.
Survivors include her brother, Keith Nixon and his wife, Alma Jean, of Wellsville; her nieces and nephews, Kelli Miller, Kristi Johnson, Kathy Wilke, Diane Householder, and David Nixon; as well as several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Nixon and Alfred Nixon Jr.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Merrill Williams of the First Nazarene Church Officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery at Wellsville.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home in Calcutta on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, from 6-8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Nazarene Church in East Liverpool.
