CHESTER - Edward L. DeBee, 86, of Chester, passed away at the Kindred Heritage Valley Beaver Hospital on Sunday April 20, 2014, after a brief illness.
A son of the late James Austin DeBee and Viola Bennett DeBee, Eddie was born in Newell, on Nov. 28, 1927.
He was well known throughout the area as a superb decorator. He spent many years working for the Ogilvie Department Store in East Liverpool, decorating the store and windows. Most recently, Eddie had worked at the Chester IGA and later for Gordon Todd at his Sparkle Food Stores, also decorating and in the produce department.

He graduated from the former Wells High School in Newell in 1946, and he was an active member of the Chester First United Methodist Church, teaching Sunday school and keeping the church beautifully decorated.
His wife, Eleanor Hill DeBee, whom he married on Oct. 17, 1959, preceded him in death, as did 12 brothers and sisters.
Eddie leaves several nieces and nephews and their families.
His Pastor, Rev. Kara Rowe, will celebrate his life with a memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday at the Chester church. Interment will be at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell.
