An officer on patrol at 3:59 a.m. Wednesday reported seeing a pickup truck with Pennsylvania license plates pull over to the curb on North Street and a woman exiting the truck then walking up North Street. The officer asked the woman if everything was OK and she said she was looking for her sister's house on McKinnon Avenue. She gave the name of Janel Hayes, and the officer checked but found no warrants for anyone by that name. However, he did find an outstanding warrant for Stephanie Hayes, 30, Pennsylvania Avenue. When he pulled up a photo of that person on his computer, it was the woman he had spoken with. Hayes was located on Broad Street and taken into custody on the warrant as well as being charged additionally with falsification. A search of her wallet reportedly turned up a cellophane wrapper containing several blue pills and an EBT card belonging to a man, as well as two receipts where it had been used at the local Sparkle Market.
