SISTERSVILLE, W.Va. - Doris A. Dudgeon, 73 formerly of Chester, passed away at the Sistersville Center in Sistersville, W.Va., where she had been a patient for four years.
Born in East Liverpool on April 26, 1940, to the late Brooks and Zella G. Bates Ash, Doris was a lifelong Chester resident, being raised here and graduating from the former Chester High School in 1958.
She retired as a nurse's aide from East Liverpool City Hospital.
Doris was a very active and involved member of the Chester First Christian Church where she was a former Deaconess, choir member and Sunday School Teacher.
On Dec. 3, 1984, her husband, Ben Dudgeon preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Dena Woodward and husband Alan of Mechanicsville, Va.; her son, Pastor Dale Dudgeon and wife Tammy of Pine Grove, W.Va.; and her dear grandchildren, Marah and Tessa Dudgeon, and Chloe and Alison Woodward.
Pastor Dennis Arnold will celebrate Doris's life on Tuesday, March 25, at 1 p.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester where friends are invited to visit with the family on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Interment will follow the Tuesday services at Locust Hill Cemetery.
