Police arrested Cathy Jo Pappas following an incident at the Rich station on Third Street on Feb. 23 shortly after 1:30 a.m. Sidni Livolsi had driven to the station, followed by Cathy Jo Pappas and Tonya Pappas. Livolsi and the store clerk said Cathy Jo followed Livolsi into the store, threw her to the ground and began hitting her. Livolsi's right eye was already blue and swollen shut, though she refused medical treatment when offered. Cathy Jo was taken to the station and charged with assault.
Several officers were called to the Emerald Motel on Clark Avenue at 8:55 a.m. Feb. 20 after a male known as "Mud" entered the room of resident Kristy Crowe without permission, kicking the door open when she attempted to close it and injuring her thumb. Motel manager Heather Crowe requested that the man be removed. When police went to the room, registered to Joni McDole of West Virginia, neither she nor "Mud" were there, though Mariah Beaver and William Edward Jones from Lorain were present.
Gretchen Baldwin came to the station at 2:45 p.m. Feb. 18 and reported that a 9mm Taurus pistol belonging to her late brother, David A.N. Baldwin, had been stolen from 449 Main St., after she allowed other individuals inside the building to retrieve their own property.
Police were called to the residence of Liz Broderick on Lincoln Avenue for a breaking-and-entering. Broderick told police the someone entered through a side window and stole a power drill and a smartphone.
