Thanks & Spanks for 2-21-14

February 21, 2014
The Review

The Oak Glen High School faculty, staff and administrators issue a THANKS to the community for helping us through a difficult time. There are too many people to thank on an individual basis. We appreciate the support, help and love shown to our school due to the tragic loss of three of our students.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to those who continue to park at the entrance of Bank Street off Avondale even after getting a warning ticket. The snow plow can not get through or properly clean the street.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to a local florist who took a phone order and quoted a price for a dozen roses, took the credit card number, and charged an extra $20 after the fact for an in-town delivery, a box, a piece of ribbon, and three sprigs of fern.

THANKS, writes a reader, to the East Liverpool Police Department and the Drug Task force for cleaning up our city of the drug traffic.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to the renter that left their dog tied up for hours in the yard behind the church on Orchard Grove during the snow and cold last week.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to Beaver Local school officials for not scheduling a bus for the high school wrestling team for its sectional wrestling tournament at Buckeye Local.

THANKS, writes a reader, to East Liverpool City Hall for replacing their torn and tattered American flag. SPANKS to a Calcutta fast food business for displaying a torn and tattered American flag.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to a local man who told his child that he is the reason he drinks and smokes.

THANKS, writes a reader, to our good neighbor, Dave, at Spruce Court, who takes care of us "old folk" and clears our driveways after a big snow.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to political candidates who run for office but never show up to meetings to see how business takes place.
