EAST LIVERPOOL Jane Ann Fisher Gaston, lifelong East Liverpool resident, passed on to the hands of her Maker at the age of 93 on Friday evening, Jan. 31, 2014.
She was born on June 23, 1920, in East Liverpool, a daughter of the late Albion and Gladys McClure Fisher and was a 1938 graduate of East Liverpool High School.
A member of the 1st Evangelical Presbyterian Church for nearly 70 years, Jane Ann also belonged to Monday Literary Club and had volunteered for the Pottery Festival and the Thompson House, among other endeavors. In addition, she had been a member of the East Liverpool Women's Club since 1947. Jane Ann was always interested in the activities of her family, as well as the community and the people in it.
On June 26, 1943, she married Willis G. Gaston of East Liverpool, who preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 2009. Jane Ann was a lifelong homemaker, having raised two sons, who survive: Clyde Gaston of Oakridge, Tenn., and Carl Gaston, DDS, of East Liverpool.
She will also be missed by her grandchildren: Andrew Gaston of Monona, Wis., Capt. Jonathan Gaston, D.O. of Cedar Crest, N.M., and Whitney Gaston of New York, N.Y. There are two great-grandchildren, Aurora and Indra, of Monona, as well as a niece, Cynthia Fisher and a nephew, Rick Fisher. Jane Ann leaves a void in the lives of her family and friends whom she touched deeply.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Fisher.
Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Saturday, Feb. 15, where the family will be present from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery.
