EAST LIVERPOOL - Anne Irene Jackson, daughter of longtime East Liverpool physician Dr. J. Fraser Jackson and his wife, Irene Sjoblom Jackson, passed away at the age of 60, following a valiant battle with cancer. Anne, who had resided in Portland, Ore., until her illness, died at 3:15 p.m. Monday afternoon, Feb. 3, 2014, at Calcutta Health Care Center.
She was born on Sept. 14, 1953, in East Liverpool, and was raised in this area, along with her two brothers. A 1971 graduate of East Liverpool High School, Anne received her degree from Albion College in Michigan in 1975.
A Presbyterian by faith, Anne followed her love of the outdoors and moved to the Pacific Northwest to pursue her Masters degree at the University of Oregon. She had been an import/export broker specializing in chemical products, working in the Portland area. An avid reader and lifelong learner, Anne loved nature and living in her home along the Willamette River.
She is survived by her parents, of East Liverpool, and her two brothers: David Jackson and his wife, Sarah, of Los Angeles, and Robert Jackson and his wife, Christine, of Hot Springs, Ark.
Anne also leaves behind her aunt and uncle, Dale and Alberta Jackson of Naples, Fla., and her aunt Esther Letzler, of Aurora, Colo., as well as numerous cousins. She is also survived by her best friend Sylvia Monas of Sutherlin, Ore., as well as many caring friends and neighbors.
The Rev. Dr. Stephen Cramer of Trinity Presbyterian Church will conduct a private family service at the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.
