NEW MANCHESTER-Willis Ronald Richmond, 86, of New Manchester, W.Va. passed away Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014 at Trinity East Valley Hospice Center in Steubenville, Ohio surrounded by his loving family.
He was born April 8, 1927 in Pughtown, W.Va. a son of the late Lester James & Abbie Cardelia (Couchenour) Richmond. He is also preceded in death by his first wife A. Juanita Richmond, his second wife Connie M. Richmond; two brothers Lester Dean & Robert David Richmond; two sisters Dorothy Jean Jordan & Betty Mae Ord, and a step daughter Lisa Suzette Jackson.
Willis retired from Weirton Steel Corp Coke Plant as a Foreman, was a WWII Army veteran, member of Fairview Presbyterian Church in New Manchester, W.Va. and was known as Mr. Fixit in the community.
Surviving are three children; Carolyn Kay Barton, New Cumberland, W.Va., Patricia Ann (Travis) Cornwell, New Manchester, W.Va., Ronald James (Lucy) Richmond, Charlotte, N.C., four step children; Tara (Jim) Allison, New Manchester, W.Va., Debra (Bill) Hale, Ocala, Fla., Jill (Ron) Brant, Ocala, Fla., Marcy (Dave) Hess New Manchester, W.Va., two grandchildren, five step grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Monday from 2 4 & 6 8 p.m. at the Turley Funeral Home.
Services will be there Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Matt Camlin, Rev. Brian Kilbert & Rev. Mark Wilds officiating. Interment will follow in Mill Creek Cemetery in Hookstown, PA.
