WELLSVILLE - Nora J. Hubbard, 68, formally of Wellsville, died Wednesday Jan. 22, 2014, at Mount Carmel Medical Center in Columbus. She was born on April 21, 1945, a daughter of the late Richard G. and Betty (Click) Malone.
Nora was Protestant by faith and attended Wellsville High School before moving to Columbus where she spent many years working in the steel mills and doing what she really loved as a security officer at Burns Security and for Perry Nuclear Power Plant. Nora attended Lakeland Community College where she studied Security and Loss Prevention. Nora also enjoyed being a Day Care provider, foster parent and lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. She was a certified mechanic and the first women to get the student citation for doctor of motor from Dana Corp.
Nora is survived by her life partner of 40 years, Linda Adams of Columbus, (formally of East Liverpool); two sons: David L. Johnston Jr. of Columbus, and Kevin R. Hubbard and wife Stephany of North Kingsville, Ohio; a daughter: Kimberly S. (Hubbard) Brott and husband Sanders of Seymour Ind.; three brothers, Gary Malone and his wife Shelba of Wellsville, Robert Malone and his wife Barbara of Houston, Texas, and Gale Malone and his wife Vanessa of Steubenville; and one sister: JoAnne McCauley of Wellsville. Nora has eight grandchildren, Kenneth Morris III, Kristopher Brott and wife Heather, Kirstyn Brott, Haleigh Brott, Kaulah Hubbard, Amanda Hubbard, Brittany Styzej, and Cody Styzej; and four great-grandchildren, Aerabella, Kylee, Madaline and Kenneth.
In addition to her parents, Nora was preceded in death by a brother Richard Malone.
Services will be at the Wellsville Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Home held on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, with the Rev. Duane Hetzer, of Riverside Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Family will be present to receive friends and family from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014.
