EAST LIVERPOOL - June E. Warrick, 90 of East Liverpool, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at the Calcutta Health Care center following a lengthy illness.
Born in East Liverpool on June 2, 1923, June was a daughter of the late Charles Morton Wright and Blanc Nora Jones Wright.
In her earlier years, she had worked at several area restaurants and more recently was a homemaker.
A Pentecostal by faith, June had attended East Liverpool Schools.
Her granddaughter, Faith Ann Hampton preceded June in death, along with her first husband, Glen Mercer; siblings, Lester, Everett, Huey, and Virgil Wright, Alice Johnston, Bernice Osborn, Clarice Felton, and Midge Wright; and her grandchildren, Ricky and Pamela Smith.
She leaves her husband who she married on Dec. 2, 1973, Bernard Warrick; daughters, Kimberly Hampton of Belleville, Ill., Marjorie Smith of Wellsville, Donna Sendling, and Catherine Williams, both of East Liverpool; sons, Thomas Warrick and wife Connie and Joe Warrick, both of East Liverpool, Glen Mercer and wife Claudia of Wellsville, and James Mercer and wife Marsha of Florida; grandchildren, Randy Smith, Suzanne (Jim) McIlvain, Jeff Smith, Tonya (Jay) Neely, Bruce (Sandy) Williams, Brian Williams, Windy Mercer, Tish Mercer, Jeff Mercer, Gwindeline Mercer, Aaron, Sue Ann, and Timothy Hampton, Joe, Angie, Tom (Mandy), and Christopher Warrick. Surviving great-grandchildren are Missy and Tracy Smith, Brittany and Seth Smith, Pam and Casey McIlvain, Shawn Smith, Makayla Smith, and Brandon Neely.
Pastor Jim Cochran will celebrate June's life on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester. Interment will follow at Longs Run Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 p.m.
