EAST LIVERPOOL - The resignation of one city employee and appointment of his replacement were accepted during the recent Civil Service Commission meeting.

Jeff Cameron, chief operator at the water department, resigned for retirement purposes, effective Nov. 29, and the board approved the appointment of Dave Freeman to the position, effective Nov. 30, at a salary of $18.78 per hour.

Also approved was the appointment of Chad Blewitt to the position of utility operator at a salary of $17.29 per hour. Both Freeman's and Blewitt's appointments were transfers from other department positions.

Reorganization for the new year was postponed due to the absence of member John Fisher.

The commission also approved the purchase of needed supplies with a $250 limit set.

The next regular meeting will be at 5:15 p.m. Feb.5.
