EAST LIVERPOOL - Thomas L. Jones, 69 of East Liverpool, died on Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver, Pa.; following a short illness.
He was born on May 25, 1944, in Pennsboro, W.Va., and he was a son of the late Charles T. and Lucy Schultz Jones.
A Catholic by faith, Tom retired as a supervisor for North Star Steel in Youngstown, and he proudly served his country with the US Navy during the Vietnam conflict.
An avid golfer, fisherman and hunter, he held memberships in the NRA and the North American Hunting Club.
By far his favorite activity was drag racing, and Tom was very proud of and enjoyed great pleasure in racing his Chevy II SS.
Tom suffered two devastating losses in his life when he was preceded in death by his wife Susie and one year later the loss of his son Tommy.
He will by fondly remembered by his daughter Candi Wisenor and husband Aaron of Georgetown, Pa.; his sisters, Barb Riggins of Salem and Beverly Rice of Hanoverton; his grandchildren, Joshua Jones and Megan Wisenor; and his great-granddaughter, Hailie Jones.
A memorial gathering to honor Tom's life will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 28, from 6-7 p.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester where his memorial service will held that evening at 7 p.m. All of Tom's friends are invited to join his family that evening. His burial will take place at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
