EAST LIVERPOOL - Nancy J. Pratt Davis, 75 of East Liverpool, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at her home, in the presence of her loving family who were with her throughout her brief but difficult illness.
Nancy was born in Doddridge County, W.Va., to the late Denzel Pratt and Mary Blanch Pratt Sadler on Feb. 18, 1938.
A lifetime area resident, she was a graduate of the former Chester High School, class of 1956, and was avidly involved with the Chester High School Alumni Association.
Nancy was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge 642 in East Liverpool and had been a meticulous homemaker since retiring from K-Mart. Prior to K-Mart, Nancy had been employed for many years at Interstate Motor Freights.
A little known fact about Nancy was that although she didn't play golf, she loved to watch it on TV and her favorite golfer to watch was Tiger Woods.
Survived by her husband, Richard E. Davis, whom she married on August 8, 1956; she is also survived by her three children, Rock D. Davis and wife Anita of Chester, Traci L. Davis of East Liverpool, and Bret A. Davis and wife Traci R. of East Liverpool; as well as her brother, Roger L. Sadler of New Cumberland; and her sister, Mariea Wakefield of Hermitage, Tenn.
In addition, other survivors include her grandchildren, Jeffrey, and Brian Davis of Lisbon; Krystin Davis of Poland; Megan Davis of Wadsworth; and Rhianna Dawson of Chester; as well as eight great-grandchildren.
Pastor Larry Rose of the Northside Community Church will celebrate Nancy's life at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11, at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester. Burial will follow at the Locust Hill Cemetery in Chester. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
