Criminal activity hits village store

January 5, 2014
Review Staff Reports , The Review

LEETONIA - Police Chief John Soldano said no entry was made, but twice now someone has broken the glass door at the Village IGA this past week.

Both incidents were reported by a newspaper delivery driver, with the first one at 2:47 a.m. Monday when someone apparently shattered the glass with a rock. The second incident was reported at 3:11 a.m. Saturday.

"Both times nobody gained entry into the store. We're just trying to figure out what's going on," Soldano said.

An officer had driven through the parking lot at 2:30 a.m. Saturday and everything appeared fine at that time.

If anyone has any information about the incidents, they should call the department at 330-427-6711. Soldano said anonymous tips will be welcomed.
