CHESTER-William L. Wedgwood, 86 of Chester passed away on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 at Nentwick Convalescent Center following a brief illness.
A lifelong Chester resident, he was born here on Aug. 23, 1927 to the late William L. Wedgwood Sr. and Grace Merriman Wedgwood.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chester and he retired as Roller in the Bar Mill at the former Crucible Steel Mill in Midland in 1982.

A proud veteran of the US Army, he was a charter member of the VFW Post 6450, and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 121 in Chester.
Sadly, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen A. Wedgwood on March 12, 2013. Also preceding him was his son, James A. Wedgwood Sr., his granddaughter, Jessica Wedgwood, and his daughter-in-law, Shannon Wedgwood.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda Shroades and husband Dick of Chester, sons, William (Butch) Wedgwood of New Castle, Pa.; Jay Wedgwood and his companion Mary Rice, Gary Wedgwood and wife Vicki, and Scott Wedgwood, his daughter-in-law Leslie Wedgwood all of Chester, and his sisters, Martha Frontone of Weirton, and Nancy Eddy of Medina, Ohio. He also leaves 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and five great- great-grandchildren.
Father Tony Thurston will preside for a Liturgy of the Word service on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester where family and friends will gather on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Full military honors will be given by the National Guard Honor Guard and the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group during interment at the Locust Hill Cemetery on Tuesday.
