January 5, 2014
The Review

Terry Faulk reported at 9:18 p.m. Tuesday someone just dropped off three boys at Smith Oil and he suspects they may be runaways from the Rogers Honor Farm. Police Chief Mike Abraham checked the area but was unable to locate the youths.

George Burke, North Jefferson Street, reported Dec. 25 his neighbors have been driving through his yard to get to their driveway, and the officer attempted to contact the neighbors but was unsuccessful. The officer did not see any evidence of anyone driving through Burke's yard.

The security alarm went off at the Columbiana County Municipal Court building at 9:48 a.m. Wednesday, and the officer spoke with the cleaning staff, who said the building was secure.

The security alarm went off at the county elections board office at 10:42 a.m. Tuesday, and an officer arrived to find the building secure. The maintenance man was on his way to reset the alarm.

Melissa Gentry, Cross Street, reported Dec. 25 the iPhone she bought for her daughter was missing from her house and was last seen three days before.

Officer David Hilliard Jr. was involved in an accident in a village police cruiser while responding to an accident in state Route 154 at 2:47 p.m. Jan. 1. Hillard was eastbound on East Lincoln Way and stopped briefly at the Jackson Street traffic light before proceeding through the intersection, which is when the 2008 Impala was struck by a car driven by Jennifer Faloon, 29, Owens Road, Wellsville, who was turning from Jackson Street onto Lincoln Way. Hilliard was running with his police lights and siren activated but both his and Faloon's views were obstructed by another vehicle in the right-hand turning lane on East Lincoln Way. Witnesses said Hilliard did stop at the light with his lights and sirens on before proceeding through the intersection, but he is listed as being at fault. Neither driver was injured, but the Impala's front bumper was damaged.
