Officers responded Wednesday afternoon to the home of Brenda A. Bellotti, 36, and Frank J. Bursick, 51, East Liverpool Road, for a reported domestic dispute. According to reports, the dispatcher was able to hear what sounded like someone being beaten over the telephone during the call. Officers found Bellotti walking down the driveway and she told them Bursick had beaten her and was still inside the house, where he had numerous hiding spots and cubby holes. Officers went inside but could rouse no response from Bursick until they found him huddled in a bedroom closet. They reported he would not respond to them until he was threatened with a Taser, which prompted him to begin yelling for them to get off his property and to hide his hands underneath some clothing. The Taser was used to bring Bursick into compliance and he was taken into custody for domestic violence and resisting arrest. North Star Critical Care ambulance personnel responded and removed the Taser probes from Bursick. Bellotti reportedly told officers Bursick has been beating her for three years but she always made up stories for police because she feared for her life and reported he had broken her eye socket a few days prior to this call. At that call, she had told officers she fell, according to reports.
