East Liverpool Police for 12-31

December 31, 2013
The Review

Joshualee B. Hackney, 33, 18th Street Heights, Wellsville, was charged Saturday with resisting arrest after officers attempted to take him into custody on outstanding warrants and he reportedly took off running. He ran through several streets and was spotted on Ravine Street where another foot pursuit ensued before he was apprehended.

After Rite Aid employees reported hearing the front door security alarm activate, they stopped Zernia W. Charpin, 30, Stagecoach Road, but he said it must be the security tag on the cell phone in his possession. He refused to walk back through the security tower and fled northbound on Bradshaw Avenue, according to reports. He was stopped by an officer near the Giant Eagle and reportedly threw something onto a wall there. Police said he admitted stealing the item, an inhaler, from Rite Aid, and he was charged with petty theft.
