EAST LIVERPOOL - Ralph V. Shaw, 83 of East Liverpool, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at East Liverpool City Hospital with his loving wife and family at his side.
He was born on June 11, 1930, in East Liverpool to the late Lloyd and Lenora Reed Shaw.
Ralph was a sergeant in the US Army and proudly served in the Korean War.
Ralph enjoyed camping, fishing, and being in his garage working on cars. He also coached many years for East Liverpool Baseball leagues.
He retired as a welder from American Bridge in Ambridge. He also worked with Brown Builders, and Smith Drilling.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ellen Barrett Shaw at home; their sons, Ralph Shaw and wife Sandy, Mike Shaw and wife Cheri, Paul Shaw and wife Jodi; and daughter Debbie Duncan and husband Frank all of East Liverpool. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; his brother, Wayne Shaw and wife Carol of East Liverpool; his sisters, Ruby Wade of Cleveland, and Nedra McKarns and husband Earl of Kenningston; and sisters-in-law, Betty Six and Pernell Shaw.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth, Lloyd, Claire, Alvin and Allen Shaw; and sisters, Arla Dietz and Ruth Roe.
John Smith will conduct services at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Saturday, Dec. 28, at 11 a.m. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 2-8 p.m.
