Forever honoring the memory

December 22, 2013
The Review

Dear Editor:

I attended the funeral service for Mr. Edwin Bayless held at the Yellow Creek Cemetery on Dec. 7. It was a cold and icy day, and the family and friends appreciated the safety of the cleared parking lot. Several elderly people were among the mourners.

The members of the church served us a delicious hot meal and were so kind and gracious. The military service was moving and respectful.

Mr. DeJane should know we did not ask for special treatment but we did appreciate it. I am certain Mr. Bayless did not choose his dying day and if he could have he would have chosen a warm sunny day when it wasn't so inconvenient for you and your taxpayers.

He should send his address to the newspaper and I will send him the $6 for the ashes that were spread on the church parking lot.

Mr. McKenzie, while I appreciate his compassion and help, he owes the Bayless family an apology for referring to Mr. Bayless as "This poor b*****d."

Mr. Bayless was a veteran, and a much loved patriarch of the family, and when he was able he was an active member of his church. We who knew and loved him will forever honor his memory.
