Columbiana County Sheriff Reports for 12-23

Justin Kastanek, Lakefront Drive, Beloit, spoke with deputies at 12:31 p.m. Friday regarding property damage at his residence by his girlfriend, Laura Crowell. Kastanek stated that he was hit in the head by Crowell with her hand in a cast. Crowell was taken into custody for domestic violence after acknowleging that she hit him first, but also stated that he bounced her head off the wall, causing a gash on her forehead. Kastanek denied this, stating she headbutted the wall on her own, and then broke a mirror on his truck with her cast.

Trina Cornett, Fairview Drive, Minerva, reported harrassing text messages from her child's father regarding custody at 12:03 p.m. Friday.

Elizabeth Taylor, state Route 45, Madison Township, reported Dec. 16 letting her daughter, Jessica Albaneso, borrow her car to go to Michigan but she has yet to return. The deputy contacted Albaneso, who said she would be home the next day.

Marianne Grate, Rochester Road, West Township, reported Dec. 16 her mother keeps calling her and she also notified Salem police. The deputy attempted to contact the mother but the number he was provided was the wrong number.

Sue Halverstadt, Chamberlain Street, Negley, called in regard to vandalism at the home of Mary Riedy, Southern Street, Negley, at 11:13 a.m. Saturday. The deputy spoke with a male, who reported someone shot a hole a through a window of the house trailer.

The medical staff at the Salem Community Hospital emergency room reported a patient, Luke Worden, was threatening his girlfriend, Sarah Drye, at 16:40 p.m. Friday. The deputy arrived and spoke with Worden, who admitted to choking Drye. The deputy then went to a trailer park on Kelly Park Road to obtain a written statement from Drye, who said Worden had choked her.

A disabled vehicle that had front-end damage was found abandoned at the Glasgow Storage Units, Glasgow Road, Wellsville, at 6:46 p.m. Saturday. The deputy spoke with storage unity owner Doris Adney and told her she can have the vehicle towed it she desires.

Sally Goddard, Johnson Road, Wellsville, reported Friday her shed had been broken into, and stolen were a chainsaw and 50 feet of towing chains.

Marianne and Doug Fonner, Guy Road, Elkrun Township, reported Saturday being harassed by Brenda Tullis, who was contacted by the deputy and told to cease all contact with the Fonners or charges would be filed.

Frank Medure Jr., Foundry Hill Road, Madison Township, reported Saturday finding remains in a roadside ditch on Foundry Hill Road near state Route 518, which turned out to be a deer carcass. The deputy then noticed another deer carcass in the opposite ditch and its organs had been removed. The deputy had the dispatcher call the local game warden to advise them of possible poaching.
