EAST LIVERPOOL - Kenneth F. Jackson, 86, of Shadyside Avenue, passed away Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at 4:35 a.m. at East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born Nov. 30, 1927, at Wheeling, W.Va., he was a son of the late Harry Ronald and Teresa Frank Jackson. A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Army.
He spent most of his lifetime in this area, retiring in 1982 from the former Crucible Steel Company in Midland, Pa., as a roll grinder in the roll shop. He also was an ordained minister serving as pastor of the Full Gospel Assembly in Wellsville for 45 years. In his spare time, he truly enjoyed fishing and hunting.
His wife, Yvonne Bentz Jackson, whom he married Nov. 7, 1947, survives at home. In addition, he leaves behind two sons, Daryl L. Jackson and his wife, Amy of East Liverpool, and Kenny W. Jackson Sr. and his wife, Jeanie of East Liverpool.
There are four grandchildren, Jayson Jackson and his wife, Allison of East Liverpool, John Jackson and his wife, Melissa of Crew, Virginia, Kenny W. Jackson Jr. and his wife, Dawn of Monterey, California, and Cody S. Jackson of East Liverpool; and five great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Kathryn McDevitt of Phoenix, Ariz., and Harriet Diehl of Wooster, Ohio.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Alice Salters; and by three brothers, Ronald Harry Jackson, Lawrence Stanley Jackson, and Paul Edwin Jackson.
Friends may visit the family at the Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool on Friday from 4-7 p.m. The Rev. Greg Pennington will conduct a funeral service at 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
The Tri-State Veteran's Burial Group will conduct Full Military Honors.
